Origin of the Term
One theory is that Americans were the first to use the term "ice cream". The name "ice cream" came from the phrase "iced cream" that was similar to "iced tea", a-nd was later abbreviated to "ice cream" the name we know today. Is it really? Something I see on the web indicates that "iced cream" is just a variant of "ice cream." The term "ice cream" would imply cream somehow derived from ice, whereas "iced cream" describes cream that has been made like ice through freezing. In any case, we all like ice cream very much, does not it?
