Ice Cream in France
"Ice cream" in French is "crème glaçée". France ice cream is diffreent with American a-nd Italian ice cream, France ice cream is made with eggs so it is thick, a-nd often perceived as "creamier/heavier" - contain more butterfat (that means more cream, generally). In 1651, Italian Francesco dei Coltelli opened an ice cream café in Paris, a-nd the product became so popular that during the next fifty years another 250 cafés opened in Paris. Now on the New Years Eve or New Years Day, some people would eat heart or log shaped cakes made of ice cream in France.
