Screaming - 5 Korean Novelty Ice Cream
We all know Korean ice creams for their weird concepts, they can all get an A+ for the creativeness!
Corn Ice Cream
Corn? Ice cream? It is a corn-flavored ice cream covered in a chocolate shell a-nd wrapped in a cob-shaped wafer. It tastes kinda like wet popcorn.
Bungeoppang
A fish-shaped pastry. Bungeoppangs are prepared using an appliance similar to a waffle iron. The batter is poured into a fish-shaped mold, red bean paste is added, then more batter to encase the red bean paste. The mold is then closed, a-nd roasted. There are also bungeoppang-shaped waffles filled with ice cream a-nd pat (sweetened a-nd boiled red beans or azuki beans). These waffles are usually mass-produced a-nd sold by retailers.
Watermelon Bar
Even though it is shaped as a watermelon, the taste is not so watermelon! It has more of a peanut taste with a hint of citrus. It also comes with speckles of sunflower seed covered in chocolate, so you can taste a bit of chocolate.
Pipe Ice Cream
The Korean name for it is Jipangyi Ice Cream. It is big, measuring an envious 17" long from the top to the bottom of its whacky J-bend shape. The Jipangyi shell itself is said to be a much older Korean street food that is eaten by itself (no ice cream in it) as a sort of cracker snack, having a flavor profile similar to corn puff breakfast cereal.
Massive Ice Cream Cone
This small ha-ndheld cone was piled high with about a foot of ice cream on top. Very delicious!
Although their shapes are strange, but they are definitely something worth eating!
